SSP working with Active Newham provided an sports artificial grass with an impact matting underneath. The surface turns any hard area in a state of the art surface for sports. The grass is fastened along seams with velcro which allow the pitch to be taken up and relocated.
Following the end of the rugby , ActiveNewham will be taking the pitch around Newham for communities to benefit from the temporary sport surface. This legacy ensure the sustainability of this part of the fan zone.
The green credentials of this surface are further endorsed by the impact matting containing recycled foam from the car industry making waste in a useful product. The foam is bonded by heat and not adhesive .
