There are three types of artificial grass , woven, needle point and tufted . All are suitable for cricket wickets.
Woven artificial grass cricket wickets are the more expensive but most popular surface . They are hard wearing and can be combined with a sports shockpad to minimize dangerous ball bounce. They are difficult to repair as lines will show and fraying of edges can occur.
Needle point is an ideal surface for schools, moderately priced it offer value for money as a hard wearing long life span carpet. It isn’t suitable for spikes and will require maintenance to prevent the ingress of moss etc
Tufted artificial grass cricket surfaces offer a high playing performance but directional which are readily repaired and maintained. They aren’t suitable for spikes and have a life span of approx 5 years.
