Artificial Clay Tennis Courts
Infill Level Adjustment
Synthetic Sports Surface Infill Level Adjustment is key to a well maintained artificial grass or synthetic clay astro pitch or tennis court.
Synthetic Sports Surface Infill Level Adjustment ensuring the infill levels are correct is paramount to a well-maintained Astro Turf or Synthetic Clay surface. Too much infill or too little can create problems for players and do long-term damage to the artificial surface.
Infill levels are adjusted as a matter of course in our standard Rejuvenation, Renovation, Deep Cleaning and Power Grooming processes. Excess infill can be taken off or top up infill supplied and applied – all in consultation with the Client.
Deep Cleaning
The Deep Cleaning Process lifts and cleans the existing infill keeping it free draining and at the correct levels for good, safe play.
Deep Cleaning for Synthetic Clay Tennis Surface – A synthetic clay tennis court surface, such as Advantage Red Court, Smash Court, Euro Clay, Classic Clay and others should be cleaned regularly with a Deep Cleaning Process advisable at least once a year. The Deep Cleaning Process will help keep the surfaces’ intended play and performance characteristics throughout the year.
Deep Cleaning for Synthetic Clay Tennis Surface decompacts the infill, lifts and opens up the stabilization mat, extracts a degree of contamination build up from the infill, and re-distributes the infill over the entire system. This will help to prevent the infill particles from compacting together, the space between the infill particles becoming filled with particles of contamination, the stabilization mat pile folding over, and the levels of infill to be correct.
Power Grooming Infill Decompaction
This is a process that decompacts the artificial clay infill and evenly redistributes it over the court surface. The Power Grooming process is more vigorous than Drag Brushing and is designed to decompact the infill, move migrated infill back onto the playing surface and keep the stabilization mat pile upright. It is very important to keep the fill at the correct levels on the stabilization mat as it is constantly at risk of migrating to the non playing areas through use. Decompaction of the infill helps keep the synthetic clay draining freely, enlarging the voids between the particles and thereby enlarging the space between which water can flow.
This process backs up cleaning processes and can be combined with either Regular Cleaning and/or Drag Brushing to form a maintenance regime package to suit the surface, its use and location, and the Facility Budget.
Power Grooming will help:
- Keep the surface in prime playing condition
- Maintain traction and reduce slip
- Redistribute infill over the surface
- Keep the artificial pile upright
- Reduce the impact of moss & algae
- Decompact the infill and help maintain drainage
